was aroused by the occurrence in our hospital work of two cases. These two cases we wish to report to you, and with them also we would include a further example (the most arresting of the three) which came under the care of Professor Johnstone, and in which case one of us (E. C. F.) had also been directly interested. Instances of interstitial pregnancy are admittedly of rare occurrence, and in this connection we might mention that, although the three cases occurred within the space of eight months, they occurred in the practice of three different hospitals. The exact frequency of incidence of this type of ectopic pregnancy is, perhaps, of little moment. It is said to occur in about i-i6 per cent, of all tubal pregnancies. By the courtesy of the gynaecologists in charge of wards at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, we have examined the case-records of all the tubal pregnancies we could trace, and in that hospital out of
